Steamin’ Thanksgiving, November 29th

Skip the post-Thanksgiving shopping madness and bring the family out to Auburn Heights in support of a local organization. In addition to all of the usual Steamin’ Day fun, enjoy special Thanksgiving-themed activities. Rides Ticket includes 4 rides in the antique autos or Auburn Valley Railroad: $11 ages 13 and up, $8 ages 2–12 (under 2 free). Admission is free for Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve members. Mark O’Connor & Friends An Appalachian Christmas, December 4th

Recognized as “one of the most talented and imaginative artists working in music,” by the Los Angeles Times, Mark O’Connor has lived an extraordinary life as a musical artist. An Appalachian Christmas features some of his favorite musicians, including Carrie Rodgriguez, Cia Cherryholmes, Forrest O’Connor, Hans Holzen, Kyle Kegerreis, and songs from the country/bluegrass, pop, classical and jazz worlds of his musical journey.The Grand Opera House.

Chocolate & Holiday Festival, November 29th

Capital Holiday Celebration, December 4th

Kick off the holiday season & join us for caroling and the Christmas tree lighting in Downtown Dover. Visit Santa’s Winter Wonderland Workshop. Dover Public Library will host a children’s craft area. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Emerging Young Leaders will be assisting the children with their crafts. Local Dignitaries and School Children will be leading the Songs. Stroll down Loockerman Street and visit with the downtown Dover merchants until 8:00pm! Dover, Delaware.

Around the World film series presents: Ilo Ilo, December 3rd

This Asian drama from first-time filmmaker Anthony Chen won the Camera d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Says Oscar-winning director Ang Lee, “Anthony Chen’s portrait of a family in 1997 Singapore is one of those rare films that manages to capture an entire period within an intimate slice of life. Washington National Opera’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program, December 5th

Washington National Opera’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program is unique in guiding young singers, coach/accompanists, conductors, and stage directors on the verge of international careers. The program provides intensive study with renowned vocal and drama coaches, and offers voice lessons, language classes; career guidance and master classes from staff and guest artists. The Young Artists also have the opportunity to perform and cover roles on the main stage of Washington National Opera. Delaware Technical Community College – Owens Campus.
