2 millionth guest to enter Please Touch Museum doors

The Please Touch Museum will welcome its two millionth guest later this morning, and the occasion will be marked by scaring the heck out of the kid who walks through the door.

The lucky family will be greeted by staffers, other visitors, museum mascots, the Mad Hatter, confetti cannons, music and lights.

On the upside, there will be dancing and cake when the tears stop.
The celebration is a big one for the children’s museum, which moved from Center City Philadelphia to its current location at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park in 2008.

Museum officials say it would have taken 11 years to get to two million guests at the old location.
