15 deaths linked to listeria-tainted cantaloupes

The Centers for Disease Control has now linked 15 deaths to cantaloupes contaminated with listeria, CNN reports. That number was 13 Tuesday.

At least 84 people across the country have become ill from the fruit coming from Jensen Farms in Colorado, and this outbreak is considered the deadliest food-borne outbreak since 1998.

So far, no illnesses or deaths have been reported in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware. A recall was issued Sept. 14, and any contaminated fruits should already be off the shelves.
