On this 44th Earth Day, the efforts of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and the Philadelphia Water Department are focused in part on the role small businesses in Philadelphia can play in protecting water quality in the Schuylkill and Delaware rivers.

Liz Feinberg, consultant to the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, and Chris Anderson, Watershed Partnership Coordinator at the Philadelphia Water Department, spoke with NewsWorks Tonight’s Dave Heller about the Clean Water Partners Program.

The program encourages businesses, merchants and property owners to employ good-housekeeping pollution-prevention practices on Earth Day and every day, reminding businesses to keep sites clean and proactively manage business activities in ways that prevent water pollution.
