Astronomers are getting closer to the edge of darkness as they use a unique kind of telescope to measure sizes of the inner portions of a black hole at the core of a galaxy known as M87. The telescope is a connection collection stretching across the country allowing scientists to get up close and personal with a black hole 50 Million Light Years away from Earth. NASA Rover Curiosity has revealed evidence of water on Mars. The latest photos show extremely good examples of a rock construction on Mars that looks just like what we see in stream beds here on Earth. This is evidence that water once flowed on the red planet. Also, don’t miss the Planetarium on the Parkway event on Friday, October 12th (rescheduled from October 2nd) and watch Derrick Pitts use spot lights to point out aspects of the night sky from Eakins Oval. All this and more on this week’s Sky Talk.
