Penn students who became monks for a month speak about the experience

Last Spring, University of Pennsylvania religious studies students were challenged to “live deliberately” for one month.  What does that mean?

In part, it meant foregoing email, Facebook, Twitter and all other forms of electronic and internet technology — and maintaining a strict code of silence in and out of the classroom.

Some of the students, along with the course’s instructor, Penn Religious Studies Department Chair Justin McDaniel, will be speaking about their experience at the World Cafe this evening at 6.

NewsWorks Tonight Host Dave Heller spoke with McDaniel on Monday about the experiment, and the takeaway for his students.
