NewsWorks Tonight, October 29, 2013 – Full Show

    Listen

In this Newsworks Tonight special edition, area-residents tell us how Superstorm Sandy has affected them, from the things they lost in the storm to what they’ve also gained in the recovery process. We hear reflections on the storm and its aftermath from three New Jersey artists: writer Scott Mazzella, singer Ernie DeLuise and poet Peter Murphy. On Long Beach Island, Tracey Samuelson reports on how a local recovery group is planning its next steps. Mary Cummings Jordan checks in with businesses and workers in the Toms River area as they take stock of the local economy. In Atlantic City, Jennifer Lynn visits a local church that’s behind the town’s recovery effort and learns how some residents’ homes are still in disrepair a year after the storm. And from Delaware, Shirley Min looks at how the First State is dealing with sea level rise and the threat of the next big storm.
