Understanding brain cancer
Beau Biden’s death from brain cancer has raised further awareness of this deadly disease. One type of brain cancer is Glioblastoma, or GBM. The cancer doesn’t discriminate. Laura Schmitt of Greenville knows that, her husband died from GBM. Here’s our First Look.

Biden Funeral
Flags are still flying at half-staff to honor Beau Biden. It was amazing to see the number of people who came out to honor the former attorney general. We offer this time capsule of the events from Thursday through Saturday.

State of Play: Biden impact
Stephanie Hansen and Michael Stafford join us in the First studios this week to look back at the impact of Beau Biden. From the thousands of mourners who turned out for the public viewings and funeral to the political fallout for Delaware.

Prison jerky
Delaware prisoners processed almost 4-thousand pounds of deer meat into jerky during the last hunting season. The jerky processing program is designed to teach inmates a skill. Mark Eichmann goes inside the Sussex County prison where the work is done.

State of Play: Legislative agenda
Stephanie and Michael are back with us to look at the legislative agenda in Dover. Some possible items on the agenda include decriminalizing marijuana, the state budget and body cameras. We discuss all that and more on this bonus State of Play.

First Experience: Shawn Faust
American Pharaoh’s win at the Belmont Stakes brings an end to a nearly 40 year drought for a triple crown winner. Horse racing does have a grace and beauty to it and that’s where we turn to Bear, Delaware and artist Shawn Faust. His paintings have a life of their own, down to the tiniest detail. Our First Experience shows you how it all starts with the eyes.
