    Guest: Anchee Min

Writer ANCHEE MINs first book, a memoir entitled Red Azalea about growing up during the Cultural Revolution in China, became a best seller. She described the misery of the labor camps, being chosen by Madame Mao to act in propaganda films, and her fall from grace when Mao was arrested. Her new memoir, The Cooked Seed, is about her life after leaving China, coming to  the U.S. to study barely speaking any English, and her adjustment to American culture. Min now lives in California and over the years has written several novels.  She joins us in the studio to talk about her interesting life and her career as a writer.
