World Trade Center comes to the Delaware Valey

Across the Delaware Valley, memorials have been going up, being shined and getting ready for displays and unveilings for Sunday’s 10th anniversary of 9/11. They all feature some portion of steel from the World Trade Center.

But a bulk of the steel went to Coatesville, where it originated. The Chester County town received hundreds of tons of the material its former Lukens Steel company made.

Peter Crimmins took a trip to Coatesville recently, where some of that steel will be displayed Sunday. He and Nat Hamilton compiled this slideshow of the steel and the many memorials in our area.
