Work begins on $22 million expansion at St. Mary Medical Center

St. Mary Medical Center broke ground today on its $22 million emergency department expansion. The Bucks County facility is changing the look of the department and the way it handles emergency care.

In a video interview with Patch, staffers discuss the details of the expansion, which will affect the regular, trauma and pediatric emergency care at the hospital.

Currently the only trauma center in the county, the hospital expects to extend its reach from about 70,000 people a year to 100,000 people a year.
