Wilmington Police officers start new shift plan today
Following the restructuring of the Patrol Division of the Wilmington Police Department from five platoons to four, the officers are beginning a new 12-hour shift.
Delaware Online is reporting that the new shift deployment will begin today, with seven additional officers per shift, as part of an 18-month pilot program. The department is looking at the new operation’s efficiency in cracking down on crime and improving safety conditions for the officers.
