Wilmington PD seize $58,000 worth of heroin

A Philadelphia man is facing heroin trafficking charges after Wilmington Police found 4,000 bags of heroin in his car.

Tips from residents in the 3rd and Jefferson St. area led members of the Wilmington Police Drug, Organized Crime and Vicie Division to investigate activity around that intersection.

During the invsestigation they developed 22 year old Virginio Rodriguez-Paredes of Philadelphia as a suspect. When officers saw the suspect make a traffic violation, they stopped him and searched his car with a drug K9 dog.

Inside the car, officers say they found 4,000 bags of heroin with an estimated street value of $58,000.

Parades now faces charges including posessionwith intent to deliver a controlled substances as well as trafficking heroin.
