Wilmington fire company cuts ribbon on solar power system

Delaware legislators and energy officials are gathering in Wilmington this morning for a ribbon cutting ceremony at a fire company.

The Belvedere Fire Company Fire Hall is celebrating the implementation of a solar power system. Designed and assembled by Delaware workers using Delaware-based materials, the system is expected to save the fire company approximately one-third of the cost of its electric bill.
Wilmington-based solar cell component manufacturer Cermet Materials assisted with the cost, as did a $78,223.28 grant from the Delaware Green Energy Program.
