Wilmington clerk shot dead in convenience store

A 64-year-old Wilmington clerk was shot and killed early Monday afternoon inside the Lancaster Market convenience store on N. Clayton St.

Wilmington Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the shooting that left 64-year-old Santanu Muhuri dead. The clerk was shot in the head around 1 p.m. Monday, while inside the store. Muhuri was pronounced dead a short time later at Christiana Hospital. 

Police said the investigation is active and ongoing. The Criminal Investigations Division’s Homicide and Violent Crime Unit is leading that investigation.
