Wilmington Area Planning Council seeks public comment on work program

The Wilmington Area Planning Council began taking public comment yesterday on its Unified Planning Work Program for Fiscal Year 2012.

The plan outlines transportation studies and tasks the Council will carry out through the year.

Plans for New Castle County include:

“The Village of Marshallton Circulation Study, which will address heavy vehicle traffic and speeding on Old Capitol Trail in Northern New Castle County, along with multimodal concerns throughout the village.

The Two-Way King Street Study, which will involve a circulation analysis of North Market Street and North King Street to determine whether or not two-way traffic on the 1500-block of King Street, along with other improvements, will enhance both vehicular and pedestrian circulation in the area.

The Delaware Avenue/11th/12th Streets Curve Study will develop recommendations to improve road geometry of this Downtown Wilmington area.  The Study will also include streetscape, pedestrian, and bicycle accommodations along the corridor.”

To comment, you can access the plan online, or got to WILMAPCO’s office between now and May 10.
