Wildwood threatens to lay off 11 cops
The Press of Atlantic City reports Wildwood, New Jersey Mayor Gary DeMarzo is putting forward a plan to lay off 11 officers, apparently as a means to get the police union to agree to a less punishing plan that would merely demote the officers. Wildwood passed an ordinance cutting down the number of supervisory positions in the department, leading to a demotion plan, which police unions are fighting.
