Whooping cough

A whooping cough outbreak at Bryth Athyn Church School has created a demand for the pertussis inoculation among students and faculty at the Montgomery County school.

Sixteen cases have been confirmed in the last month at the school, and to date 60 faculty members and countless children have been vaccinated.

As the Bucks County Courier Times reports, parents who send their children to the faith-based school are more likely to have waived the pertussis incoluation for their children for religious reasons. The inoculation is typically required for children entering school.
