What’s in store for Scranton?

Keystone Crossroads went to Scranton for its seventh in a series of forums throughout Pennsylvania in partnership with the Penn Project for Civic Engagement.

Pennsylvania’s cities and towns are full of promise and share common challenges.

Keystone Crossroads is a public media collaboration dedicated to reporting on root causes of problems in the commonwealth’s communities and potential fixes.

In Scranton, we wanted to get beyond the city’s pension crisis and flirtation with bankruptcy, notoriety for spawning political power players and, of course, role as backdrop in “The Office”.

So we asked people who live, work and hang out here to spend an evening with us at the University of Scranton, making their voices heard, giving us feedback and helping frame news coverage about issues facing the Electric City.

Our reporters sat in on small-group dialogues facilitated by the Penn Project for Civic Engagement. Check out the recap below. And watch for more news about Scranton.
