Wharton State Forest fire nearing full containment

    A forest fire in Wharton State Forest in South Jersey is nearing full containment. 

    The conflagration near Atsion Lake in Waterford is consuming 907-acres as of Monday morning, according to New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection spokesman Bob Considine. Crews have achieved 80% containment, he added.

    No structures are threatened, and no injuries have been reported, Considine said. 

    The wildfire broke out late Sunday morning.
