Westfield’s Bramnick elected Republican leader of N.J. Assembly

The New Jersey Assembly has a new GOP majority leader.

Assemblyman Jon Bramnick of Westfield has been elected as leader following the sudden death last week of Assemblyman Alex DeCroce. DeCroce held that top seat since 2003, which is when the Associated Press reports Bramnick was elected to the Assembly.

Bramnick has been the GOP conference leader since 2009, a position now held by Assemblyman Dave Rible of Wall Township.
