West Philly businesses to raise money for Baltimore Ave. comeback

This Friday, Jan. 25, Cedar Park Neighbors and the Baltimore Avenue Business Association are hosting a fundraiser to aid three West Philadelphia businesses almost exactly a month after a fire knocked them out.

On Dec. 24, popular neighborhood spot Elena’s Soul Lounge (4912 Baltimore Ave.) was destroyed in a fire. In the following days, demolition crews caused damage to two adjacent businesses, Gary’s Nails and Cedar Park Cafe.

The event, including food and drink from local businesses, and live music, will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Cedar Works (4919 Pentridge Ave.), a community-oriented work and meeting space. Donations will be taken at the door.
