Weekend of barbershop harmony underway in Dover
A regional barbershop harmony competition and convention begins tonight in Dover.
The annual Atlantic Division Convention of The Barbershop Harmony Society and The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America event is being held at the Dover Sheraton. Friday at 6:00 p.m. is the chorus competition, and Saturday the singing starts at 11:00 a.m. The top ten quartet showcase is being held Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. Single-event tickets are $20, and all-event tickets are $35. 26 quartets from New York to North Carolina are competing for the right to sing at the 2011 Mid-Atlantic convention this fall in Lancaster PA.
