Vineland ice cream shop serving vegetable-flavored custard

First smoothies, then fruit juices, now ice cream. Vegetables are sneaking up everywhere as a way to trick ourselves and our kids into eating healthy. A Vineland ice cream parlor is diving in with beet-flavored custard.

Serene Custard and flavor-maker Limpert Brothers, Inc. have teamed up to make B-Berry (beets and berries) ice cream, which is made from fresh beets, cranberries and oranges, reports the Daily Journal.

Limpert says celery and carrot flavors are on the way. We draw the line at brussel sprouts.
