Video: Tractor-trailer slides on ice, crashes on New Jersey Turnpike
While the Jersey Shore experienced mostly rain Sunday morning, freezing rain resulted in black ice to the north and west, causing hundreds of motor vehicle accidents throughout New Jersey.
On the New Jersey Turnpike near Exit 9 in the New Brunswick area, a man escaped injury after recording a terrifying tractor-trailer crash.
The video shows that tractor-trailer skidding across the highway before slamming into and over the median — barely missing the man’s vehicle.
The YouTube video description explains:
I was blocked by two trucks on south bound I-95 at exit 9 in NJ (New Brunswick exit). I only wanted to take a picture while i was awaiting for them to clear up… And then I heard noise from behind… I was barely missed.
Once I turned off camera, I called in 911 and reported the accident. After that I came to the truck and the rest of the cars to verify they were alright. After arrival of NJ State Trooper and his dismissal confirming that he does not require my presence, I left the scene.
