Vet will screen dogs’ hearts at Segar Dog Park

Think of it like a free clinic for dogs. This afternoon, a University of Pennsylvania veterinarian will perform free heart screenings for dogs at the Segar Dog Park. The Mobile Dog Heart Health Tour will pass through the area from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

UPenn’s School of Veterinary Medicine says heart disease is almost as prevalent in dogs as it is in humans. Today’s tests will screen for murmurs and other irregularities, and will provide tips about common heart condition symptoms to look for.
