Vehicle to grid cars on display at the University of Delaware

The University of Delaware’s vehicle to grid car program will be on display for Senator Chris Coons Tuesday afternoon.

It’s a joint enterprise between the University of Delaware and NRG Energy, called ev2g.  The idea is these cars store energy in their batteries.  Excess energy can be tapped and used during peak power times.

The University unveiled the cars and the program in September 2011. Senator Coons will watch as a fleet of BMW Mini Cooper’s are charged.  The event will take place on the new STAR campus of the University at 2:15.
