Vandals target Society Hill’s Vietnam War memorial
In January, Arts & Culture reporter Peter Crimmins talked with Terry Williams about crowd-sourcing security for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Front and Spruce streets.
The memorial was vandalized over the weekend, despite the four cameras keeping an eye on it.
Action News reports the word ‘Philadelphia’ was torn from the sign that adorns the memorial over the weekend. Williams told us earlier this year the site is prone to vandalism (and skateboarders) because of its secluded location. He had hoped interested residents would keep an eye on the cameras through their live streams.
