University of Delaware develops partnership on energy research

The University of Delaware and NRG Energy are announcing a partnership to train future electricians in new-energy technology.

The partnership is also aimed at managing the interaction of plug-in electric vehicles with the electrical power grid to help augment the nation’s electricity supply.  Officials say UD and NRG, among other things, want to train electricians to install home, commercial, and public electric car charging stations.  NRG also will work with UD to train installers and service technicians of solar technologies.  Further details are being released today at the UD campus in Newark.
