Two more cases of West Nile virus confirmed in N.J.

    The Camden County Department of Health and Services has confirmed two more cases of West Nile Virus found in local residents.

    A 64-year-old Camden man and a 50-year-old Collingswood woman have tested positive for the sometimes-deadly virus. This comes just one week since county officials confirmed the first area case on Sept. 7, reports Philly.com.

    One person has died from the disease in New Jersey this year. Pennsylvania has also reported one death.

    The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that thus far, 2012 has the highest number of cases reported since 2003. It’s been reported in people, birds or mosquitoes in 48 states. Of the 2,636 cases reported in people, nearly 120 have resulted in death.
