Turncoat: Mob boss wanted to kill DJ Jerry Blavat

A mob turncoat has become a star witness in a Philadelphia mob trial, and says the accused mob boss on trial once threatened to kill oldies DJ Jerry Blavat.

Witness Lou “Bent Finger Lou” Monacello has been regaling a federal courtroom with tales of the mob’s bravado and business endeavors.

The case mainly involves alleged loansharking and sports betting under alleged acting boss Joseph “Uncle Joe” Ligambi.

Monacello says Ligambi threatened to kill Blavat over a 2009 Philadelphia Magazine article. Monacello says he’d be nervous if he were Blavat.
