Residents near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst may hear “booms” and feel “rumbles” through Friday.

Units from the 1st Battalion, 101st Field Artillery Regiment are conducting mortar and howitzer training on the installation’s ranges, according to a military release.

They’re the oldest field artillery unit in the United States.

The training began last Friday. The release said the noise may be louder during cloudy or overcast weather.
