Train tragedy

A woman’s hand was cut off Monday night at Market East Station when she was struck by a SEPTA train, authorities said.

According to an Inquirer report, the woman was struck on the tracks between 12th and 13th streets. It’s not known how or why she was on the track. She was rushed to the hospital with unstable vital signs.

Train service continued or was diverted onto neighboring tracks, said a SEPTA spokesman.
