A tractor trailer driver suffered a minor injury when his vehicle crashed into a Tinton Falls house early this afternoon, authorities said.

According to a Tinton Falls Police Department release, a preliminary investigation reveals that Robbie Scott of Summit, Pennsylvania was traveling in a tractor trailer northbound on Wayside Road when he attempted to avoid striking a vehicle driven by Kenneth Peterson of Brick, who was in the northbound lane waiting to make a turn.

Scott collided with the rear of Peterson’s vehicle, sending the tractor trailer off the road, up a grassy area, and a portion of its cab into a residence at 1920 Wayside Road, police said.

Photos posted by Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 on Facebook show damage inside the residence.
