Tractor trailer crashes into Tinton Falls house
A tractor trailer driver suffered a minor injury when his vehicle crashed into a Tinton Falls house early this afternoon, authorities said.
According to a Tinton Falls Police Department release, a preliminary investigation reveals that Robbie Scott of Summit, Pennsylvania was traveling in a tractor trailer northbound on Wayside Road when he attempted to avoid striking a vehicle driven by Kenneth Peterson of Brick, who was in the northbound lane waiting to make a turn.
Scott collided with the rear of Peterson’s vehicle, sending the tractor trailer off the road, up a grassy area, and a portion of its cab into a residence at 1920 Wayside Road, police said.
Photos posted by Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 on Facebook show damage inside the residence.
Scott suffered an injury that was treated at the scene, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Ofc. Christopher Duncan at 732-542-4422.
