Tourist dies after receiving buttocks injections in Southwest Philly hotel

Add illegal hotel buttocks injections to the list of shameful Philadelphia crimes. As if Kermit Gosnell didn’t already have our medical reputation on the line, a woman died today after apparently receiving buttocks injections in a Southwest Philadelphia hotel.

NBC10 reports the woman flew here from the U.K. to receive the injections along with three friends. Shortly after the injections, which were administered in the Hampton Inn on Bartram Avenue, the woman experienced chest pains. She died around 1:30 this morning.

A preliminary investigation into the death has led authorities to believe the woman died as a result of silicone being injected into her vascular system, which stopped her heart.

    Police are searching the hotel.
