To keep roads clear and waterways clean, Penns Grove prohibits waterfowl feeding

The waterfowl in South Jersey are blocking roadways and contaminating the land and waterways with their feces. But it’s not their fault — they’re in search of the food the public gives them.

So Penns Grove Borough Council, in an effort to keep things clear and clean, has adopted an ordinance that makes feeding waterfowl illegal.

Today’s Sunbeam reports fines will range anywhere from $25 to $1,000 or community service for anyone caught violating the new ordinance. You might want to save the feedings for the petting zoo.
