The City of Brotherly Love according to Travel + Leisure readers

We know you’re sick of these “ratings” by Travel + Leisure, but this one sums up everything the mag has said about us in the last year, and specifies where our ratings come from.

While visitors had some unkind things to say about us, it’s the resident (at least, the ones who read T + L) who took some swings at Philly. The America’s Favorite Cities ratings may as well be called “Why people who live there hate Philadelphia.”

We’re a great town for food, sports and culture (duh), but rank low on safety, cleanliness and friendliness (so we’ve heard before).  Visitors apparently love our cocktail hours and wireless coverage, and the only terrible rating they gave us was for cleanliness.

Residents on the other hand . . . why do you even live here? You gave us a bottom 10 ranking for 14 different categories, including the quality of your fellow residents and the level of people-watching.

You’d hope the mean, unathletic, unattractive, dumb and unstylish people would at least be fun to watch.
