Thanksgiving travelers be warned: Philadelphia roads closed for parade

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    The only thing standing between you and the turkey is several large floats, marching bands and road closures.

    Parts of JFK Boulevard, Kelly Drive and the Ben Franklin Parkway will be closed (full details from the Philadelphia Police Department) for the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade with detours in place as follows:

    South bound Kelly Drive will be detoured through the park at Fountain Green Drive to Oxford Drive and 33rd Street starting at 7 a.m.
    The E/B I-76 exit onto the Spring Garden Street Bridge will be detoured west onto Spring Garden Street and 31st Street starting 7 a.m.
    JFK Blvd. will be closed from 19th Street to Schuylkill Ave., starting at 8: p.m. Wednesday

    The parade kicks off at 20th and JFK, winds to the Parkway and around Eakins Oval to the Art Museum and ends off Kelly and Sedgley drives.
