Tenn. girl, Colo. boy win national marbles tournament

Two children remained cool despite temperatures in the 90s to capture the top prizes at the National Marbles Tournament.

Eleven-year-old Logan Mayberry of Clay County, Tenn., and 13-year-old Caleb Isaacson of Gunnison, Colo., received their crowns in Wildwood Thursday.
The children were among 24 boys and 20 girls who competed in the 89th annual event along the Jersey shore.

Mayberry tells The Press of Atlantic City the tournament was more of a challenge because the concrete ring was hotter than usual.

Isaacson says he’s been playing marbles since he was in second grade.
