Temple announces scholarship program for North Philadelphia residents

Beginning this fall, Temple University will offer scholarships to students living in its nearby 19121, 19122, 19132 and 19133 ZIP codes as part of Philadelphia’s goal to increase its number of college grads.

The 20/20 Scholarship Program, announced today, will provide about 25 students a year with four-year scholarships, giving them each $5,000 per year.

The program will carry out over the next decade, boosting the university’s annual scholarship giving to $12 million, the Inquirer reports, and covering costs not otherwise assisted through loans.
