Syracuse University fires assistant basketball coach over sexual abuse allegations

As if the Penn State child sex abuse scandal was so far out of your mind that you needed a reminder.

Syracuse University has fired assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine after a third man accused fine of sexually abusing him.

The latest allegation comes from a 23-year-old Maine resident who says Fine molested him in Pittsburgh in 2002. The Associated Press has the full details of the allegations, which include doubt from the alleged victim’s father and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim’s support of Fine’s termination.

The first accusations came from 39- and 45-year-old stepbrothers.
