Suspect charged in shooting death of ten-year-old Magnolia boy

Delaware State Police say a suspect has turned himself in to face charges in the shooting death of a ten-year-old Magnolia boy. 

18-year-old Obadiah D. Miller of Magnolia surrendered over the weekend at Troop 3.  The boy, Lionel Butler, was shot in the chest late Wednesday while playing with other youngsters near Nascar Lane off Irish Hill Road.  Lionel was pronounced dead at Bayhealth – Kent General Hospital.  He was in the fifth grade at Star Hill Elementary School.  Miller is charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.  He’s being held without bail at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.
