Send us your five word slogan for Roxborough

Think you know Roxborough? How about enough to brand it?

The Roxborough Development Corporation (RDC) is looking for someone who can capture the essence of the neighborhood in three to five words for a slogan contest.

The winner will receive a $50 prize and the slogan will appear on RDC’s website and all printed material, including brochures, advertisements, resource guides and pamphlets.

The deadline for submitting entries has been extended from June 15 to July 31. Only 10 entries have been received so far.

The slogan contest, thought up by a promotions committee, is part of the Ridge Avenue revitalization project slated to begin in the fall.

The streetscape improvements will include repaving sidewalks and installing 80 trees and over 100 planters. RDC has installed lighting through a state grant received two years ago.

“We want people to walk around at night, feel safe and feel good about it,” Guet said.

As part of the revitalization, RDC will place a welcome sign made of stone at the intersection of Rochelle and Ridge avenues.

To send in your slogan, go to RDC’s website, download the application form and send your phrase over to Bernard Guet, executive director of RDC at bernard@roxborough.us.

You can also send it to newsworks@whyy.org and we’ll post it to a poll on NewsWorks.
