Storm linked to death of Delaware Co. man

The Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office announced today the death of a Delaware County man has been linked to Tuesday night’s thunderstorm.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, the man’s death was linked to the electrical storm, but not to an actual lightning strike.

An autopsy has determined 62-year-old David Toy of Media died suddenly as a result of “biventricular hypertrophy, heart, with a history of hypertension and a co-occurring electrical storm.”

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, the exact manner of death was “undetermined.”
