Stories we’re chasing today at WHYY

Good morning, Feeders! We promised yesterday to get you to the other side of hump day, and did we not deliver? It’s a wacky Thursday here at WHYY, with the bulk of our reporters already out on assignment. Here’s some of what we’ve got for you today:

Tom MacDonald is covering a few things today, including D.A. Seth William’s 10 a.m. press conference and the mayoral luncheon. He’ll also see if there’s anything juicy happening at today’s City Council meeting.

Lizz Fiedler will be in and out of the newsroom today for interviews, and is working on a multimedia piece with web editor Lindsay Lazarski about Dawn Court, which helps prostitutes get off the streets.

Jen Howard is making a flurry of calls to the Archdiocese about the Bishop Shanahan High School music teacher who’s been put on administrative leave after allegations of inappropriate physical behavior.

Maiken Scott is looking into cyber bullying and how well school social workers are prepared to handle such cases. She’s also making some calls about the behavioral health angle of the British woman who died after coming to Philadelphia for a back-alley buttocks enhancement.

We’ve got lots of other stories we’re working on today, including some weekend features. For now, Feed the Feed to share your thoughts on today’s news chase.

WHYY is your source for fact-based, in-depth journalism and information. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on financial support from readers like you. Please give today.
