Stolen Philly Beer Week hammer is returned

The Philly Beer Week hammer, also known as the Hammer of Glory, was stolen Sunday evening but has since been safely returned.

Philly.com reports that the Hammer went missing at about 4 p.m. yesterday at FestivALE in Fishtown while being passed around for photos, but was returned this morning to Frankford Hall.

Daily News columnist Joe Sixpack (AKA Beer Week Executive Director Don Russell) said he recieved a phone call from the person who returned the hammer — a kid who said his friend took the hammer and left it under I-95.

And Russell brewed up a fitting punishment for the thief. “He should be condemned to a life of nothing but Coors Light.”
