Stephen Starr plans a break from Philadelphia

Likely the most well-known name in Philadelphia food, Stephen Starr is planning to take a break from further development here.

With 19 restaurants and two more in the works, Starr tells the Inquirer’s Michael Kline he’ll be looking elsewhere for a bit to open more restaurants.

Why, you ask? Starr says the city needs to work more on making its neighborhoods ripe for redevelopment. He uses South Street as an example, saying the city has left that area “like an orphan” over the last few years.
