State police say passengers aboard a sailboat escaped injury when it capsized in Ocean County.

Troopers from the agency’s marine bureau responded to the mouth of the Forked River in Lacey around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday. The river flows to the Barnegat Bay.

They were able to upright the boat in about 10 minutes and the passengers were able to go back on board.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were aboard the sailboat or what caused it to capsize.

    The matter remains under investigation.

It was the third incident involving boats in Ocean County over the holiday weekend. Firefighters responded to two separate motorboat fires near Little Egg Harbor.
