Don’t be surprised to see some well-known actors around as filming for an independent feature film in Cape May County is underway.

The film, “Wetlands,” is a police drama about an ex-Philadelphia police officer who heads down the shore in the winter to reconnect with his estranged family, according to a release by the North Wildwood Recreation and Tourism.

As of earlier this week, the crew’s trailers were parked at the North Wildwood Boat Ramp as they film throughout the Wildwoods, which will continue through mid-May, the release said.

Notable actors in the film include Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Thor: The Dark World and the HBO series Oz), Christopher McDonald (Thelma & Louise and Happy Gilmore), and Heather Graham (License to Drive, Boogie Nights, and The Hangover).

Alex Starke, the production’s location manager, told CBS 2 that the boardwalk is a quiet setting and that the crew converted an empty boardwalk store into a surf shop.

“The Wildwoods offer so many different varieties of interiors and exteriors we needed,” he added.

Wetlands is slated for a 2017 theatrical release.
