South Street Headhouse District holds first Spring Festival [photos]

South Street’s Headhouse District held its first Spring Festival Saturday, a one-day street party to kick off Philadelphia’s festival season.

South Street was shut down between Second and Eighth streets, and all of the neighborhood’s eateries and shops came outside.

The festival featured more than 20 local music acts spread out along South Street, as well as local artists.

A Family Zone on the 200-block of South Street was set up for kids and the Heroes Zone at Sixth and South recognized the Philadelphia Fire and Police departments and the National Guard. Organizers hope to continue the festival for years to come.
